Beyond the Classroom

Year 5 have been establishing a link with Moss Park Junior School in Stretford this year.

This has involved communicating with each other via post, sending name cards and photographs. We also spent a great day at the Zion Arts centre learning Street Dance and Screen Printing.

In the Spring Term, we visited each other in school. Vale View had a super time learning ICT in the Suite at Moss Park and using their running track.

Moss Park were impressed by our Pirate Ship and enjoyed doing a joint portrait activity.

The purpose of the link is to help children understand the diversity of our society and overcome barriers when making new friends. There have been some strong friendships evident as the project has developed.

This term we are planning another meeting where those friendships can be cemented even more.
