Welcome to the ICT Transition Unit
The aim of the unit is to prepare pupils for the challenges of Key Stage 3, by means of reinforcing skills taught during Key Stage 2 or compensating for gaps in their ICT knowledge.
The content of the unit was finalised after consultation with Teachers from both Key Stages 2 and 3.
The theme of an end of year party was chosen, as it is something that Year 6s usually partake. The unit includes many ‘helpful hints’ to support pupils and aid them to work independently.
The software programmes chosen to deliver the unit are generally familiar to Key Stage 2 pupils:
