The Country Dancing Assembly
On the 21st of March the country dancing team performed a wonderful assembly for the whole school. The night before the country dancing team performed all of their dances at the Town Hall in Stockport, all the dances went right and we all had a great time.
The first dance was our demonstration dance named ‘nerves breakdown’, the second one was ‘Yankee Doodle’ and there were lots more and the very last one was a danced named ‘circadian Circle’ and all one side of the room participated in it and it was so fun.
The assembly was more fun because all the school was very enthusiastic and they all loved every minute. We would love for the country dancers to carry on next year and we hope lots of the year 2 would like to join.
It was very special for the year 6 dancers because it was the last time they would join in and last but not least we would like to thank Mrs Warburton for teaching us the dances and thank you to all the parents for coming to watch.

Year 6 Science
Year 6 were very lucky because a man from Reddish Vale Technology Collage came in and taught us about science and mainly about gravity. We all had lots of fun, we got taught tricks to do with gravity like, get a tiny bit of water in a bucket and spin it around as fast as you can up and down and it really works because no water falls out most of us had a go. We had a very good afternoon and we learnt some great facts and some amazing tricks. We also watched a famous video made by Dynamite, get a feather and a hammer and see which one falls first. Surprisingly a hammer goes down first!!!

The club teaches us all about how to keep safe and healthy. For the first few weeks we look at keeping safe in our homes and what to do in an emergency. We also learn about how to keep our hearts healthy, by playing games such as ‘dodge ball’. For the remaining sessions we keep our hearts healthy through exercise and games such as ‘duck, duck, goose’. We also look at how to keep our hearts healthy through healthy eating. We use the Eatwell plate (http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Goodfood/Pages/eatwell-plate.aspx) to sort foods into their food groups, design our own Eatwell plate, and in the final week we have a healthy party! We hope you can join us for some healthy fun!
